Radiohead working on new tunes

Radiohead band working on a new tunes, they prepare a new and unique tune, according to the fan Jonny Greenwood.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music News, The band guitarist claimed: "We are recording with Radiohead and rehearsing, playing and making music and working out what to do."

According to the radio station and Greenwood that the band recently release a new album The King of Limbs.

He said Radiohead are make music and are considered way to take in the future.

Liam Gallagher in an interview in which he criticised Radiohead for writing their new album a tree.

Radiohead Greatest Album OK Computer

The British singer Radiohead new album OK Computer has been voted the greatest album of the previous years.

Nirvana classic Nevermind came second album while Oasis had two releases in the top five – (What's the Story) Morning Glory) was third and Definitely Maybe was fourth.

A spokesperson for the magazine, "As this readers' poll testifies, our readers see it as the benchmark against which all other albums are and continue to judged against in Q's lifetime."

Their band in the Top 30 had been four albums The Bends at No 8, Kid A at No 18 and In Rainbows at No 23.

U2 and the Stone Roses had two album inside, the Stone Roses and Muse were self album titled Black Holes And Revelation.

Celebrate the 25 anniversary of Q magazine, the Top 30 was complied.

Radiohead's Solo Album Selway Discusses

Radiohead drummer Philip Selway has revealed some new details about his solo album, Familial, an August which is slated for 30 release in the U.K. "I've been playing guitar and writing songs since I was 15 but I started really thinking about making an album around four years ago," Selway tells Pitchfork."But I didn't know I'd sing on it; I didn't feel at that point I had a convincing voice," he adds. "It took four years of trial and error to find out the stretches I could make. It's a bit of a leap of faith."Selway will follow the release of Familial with a short British tour. He will act as the main support for Wilco."I am one of the more shadowy figures in Radiohead which is a great place to be," Selway adds. "As a drummer in a five piece, you can easily get bound up in this rather distasteful shout for attention but, in some ways, a drummer is there to do a job and doesn't actually need to speak."

Radiohead speaks of new album

Currently, Phil Selway from Radiohead confirmed that their fresh album is still in the pipeline and songs are yet to be written. About his sorrowful folk album called Familial he also spoke largely. On August 31 the album is supposed to be out. He also says that his role in the band is a little shadowy and a little obscure.
His album promises to be an interesting stroll of Nick Drake kind folk tunes. The album would also have a host of guest spots filled by the likes of Lisa Germano and Wilco’s Glenn Kotche. Pat Sansone would also be one of the artists, who would appear a guest on the album. Reportedly, it’s been three years since the band ever released an album. Their last release was in 2007, with an album called In Rainbows. In Abingdon the band that was formed, Oxfordshire is expected to have a release as soon as they complete writing the songs.

Radiohead drummer Phil Selway has admitted that the band's new album deadlines keep getting extended. The group's eighth LP was previously due for release this year. Selway told EW MusicMix: "It’s not finished yet. It’s still ongoing. We like where we are so far."The musician also refused to set a release date.He said: "Oh, I don’t know. We keep on hitting those points where you think, 'We're there'. And then you think, 'No, it’s not'. We're having a break from it at the moment… and then we’ll come back to it later in the summer and look where we are."

Radiohead Appearance Glastonbury Features Surprise

Glastonbury festival on Friday. The two were introduced to the crowd as "the biggest surprise of the weekend."The performance took place on the stage fest's Park, which is off the main area and usually considered a venue for newer bands. The set started with some of Yorke's solo stuff, but soon the two provided some Radiohead songs as well. The set included such tunes as "Pyramid Song" and "Karma Police."Yorke and Greenwood's performance was billed as simply "special guests," though festival arrangers Michael Eavis gave them credit as "two superstars" when they were introduced. In previous years, Jack White's the Dead Weather and Franz Ferdinand have been some of the other Glastonbury surprise guests.

Radiohead Raised $ 500k For Haiti

Radiohead have performed at a special concert organised to raise funds for Haiti earthquake victims.

The band raised more than 500,000 dollars in their two hour performance at the Henry Fonda Theatre, Los Angeles. The ticket prices that were sold online went as high as 4,000 dollars for a pair.The money collected will be forwarded to Oxfam International, a group that works with developing countries. Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Charlize Theron, Anna Paquin and Daniel Craig were among the crowd present at the show

World of Goo is one of the current darlings of the independent games industry. It’s an award winning physics based puzzle game featuring playful visuals and addictive gameplay.
Until October 19, the typically $20 title is on sale: just pay whatever you think it’s worth. This is highly reminiscent of last year’s successful Radiohead experiment to try a creative new business model for their In Rainbows album. This experiment is all the more poignant for World of Goo developer 2D Boy, who have struggled with a reported 90% piracy rate for the game. The game’s publisher, Brighter Minds, has also filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. In other words: what have they got to lose? The promotion also celebrates the 1 year anniversary of the game’s release.

Horizon for radiohead No split

The British rockers sparked fears they were eyeing retirement after frontman Thom Yorke formed a new band with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea for a handful of shows in Los Angeles earlier this month (Oct09). It followed Yorke's comments which suggested the band had given up recording 'traditional' albums following the release of their online offering In Rainbows.But guitarist Ed O'Brien insists Radiohead will continue and they're already working on their next collection of songs. He tells rock mag NME, 'We were misquoted. We will be making an album... We're going into the studio in winter. It's always miserable! Are we at the whim of the seasons? We are!'

Release new album in 2010 to Radiohead

Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien has revealed that the band is recording a new album that will be released in 2010. Previously hinted Thom Yorke that they might be growing tired of the album format, but a summer spent in the studio has obviously caused him to change his mind. O'Brien has said in an interview with NME that they would "definitely" be releasing an album next year.

“We were misquoted,” O’Brien said of Yorke’s comments, before adding, “WE WILL BE MAKING AN ALBUM!” The guitarist must have welcomed a opportunity to talk about music again after his current spat with Lily Allen. It’s not yet known how the album will be released, but he suggests that Radiohead still has a lot of time for physical formats.

“We love the artwork; that’s actually important, the physicality,” he said. “And we all like vinyl. That’s not going to go away. I still like CDs as well. I got the Speech Debelle CD the other day I nearly downloaded it from iTunes but I thought, ‘No. I want the physical thing.’”

Thom Yorke plays second Los Angeles show, Radiohead's

Radiohead's Thom Yorke played his second solo gig of the weekend in Los Angeles last night (October 4).Yorke played at the city's Orpheum Theater following a gig on Friday (October 2) at the Echoplex venue, again with musicians including Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea, producer Nigel Godrich, REM collaborator Joey Waronker and Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco in his live band. He also played a new Radiohead song, for which they have two working titles, 'Lotus Flower' and 'Moon Upon A Stick'.Yorke dedicated Radiohead 2003 B-side 'Paperbag Writer' to his bandmate Colin Greenwood, who was in the audience. Yorke played both a solo and band encore to end the show.The frontman is due to play again at the venue tonight (October 5).

Radiohead's Yorke forms side band, sets gigs

LONDON (Billboard) – Radiohead's Thom Yorke has formed a live band and recruited Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea to the lineup, with two Los Angeles gigs confirmed for the week of October 5.
The band will also include Radiohead produce Nigel Godrich, drummer Joey Waronker, who has toured and recorded with REM, among others, and Mauro Refosco of New York band Forro in the Dark.
The October 4 and 5 shows at the 1,970-capacity Orpheum Theater will feature material from Yorke's solo set "The Eraser" and new songs.
Two songs "The Hollow Earth" and "FeelingPulledApartbyHorses" were released September 21 as a limited edition 12 inch vinyl single via the Radiohead Web site. The tracks will also be delivered as a free download, and are set to be made available separately as a paid download in October.
Yorke's solo set at the U.K. Latitude festival in July included the new song "The Present Tense." Another new song, "Hearing Damage," will appear on Atlantic's "New Moon" soundtrack, due October 20.
"In the past couple of weeks I've been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc. ... to see if it could work!" Yorke said in a post at the Radiohead Web site.
The post also featured a photo of the unnamed pair and a link to buy tickets via Ticketmaster.
"We don't actual have a name and the set will not be very long cuz ... well ... we haven't got that much material yet!" Yorke added. "But come and check it out if you are in the area."

'I agree with Lily Allen on file-sharing', Radiohead's Ed O'Brien

However guitarist is still not in favour of 'cutting people's internet off' Radiohead's Ed O'Brien has reacted to Lily Allen's criticism of him with regards to file-sharing, saying that he agrees with her.Allen had accused the guitarist, a member of the Featured Artists Coalition, of portraying the message that illegal file-sharing was acceptable. He has since told the BBC World Service that he does in fact agree with the singer's stance, and that he was not trying to send such a message."What's great at the moment is that artists, people like Lily Allen are saying, 'You know what, there are effects to file-sharing', and that's the first step in engaging the file-sharers," he said.Allen had suggested that O'Brien and other already successful musicians had a lax attitude to file-sharing as it wouldn't affect them as much financially as it would smaller bands."I completely agree with Lily Allen," O'Brien said. "We're (Radiohead) certainly not going to suffer. A lot of people have downloaded our music for free, but finally we don't suffer as much as a small band."He went on to say that young music lovers should be advanced to stop file-sharing through education and providing cheaper legal downloads. He criticised the Government's proposal to cut of internet connections of those who persistently file-share."At the moment the industry is saying you get them to change their behaviour by threatening them," he said. "We don't think this is realistic. Hopefully we can educate them (music fans) and say, 'Listen, if you want a great vibrant music scene and your favourite bands to be able to carry on doing it, you have a responsibility to pay for some of the work that they've produced'."Record companies have to permit out the recordings a lot more. You want to make it completely user friendly for somebody to be able to download something. Make it cheaper as well. Basically have more websites out there selling people's work."Lily Allen currently set up a blog to record responses for her campaign to challenge illegal downloading.

Last month, we mentioned that Radiohead drummer Phil Selway is getting set to record a solo album at his band's Oxfordshire studio. Selway sings two songs on the 7 Worlds Collide: The Sun Came Out benefit album, which is already out in the UK and due for a September 29 American release. And according to NME, he's recently hard at work on that solo album. NME reports that Selway's currently untitled solo effort will feature contributions from four of Selway's 7 Worlds Collide co-stars: Wilco's Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone, singer songwriter Lisa Germano, and former Soul Coughing bassist Sebastian Steinberg. And yes, Selway will sing on it.

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke will release two new songs in September on limited connection 12". The Hollow Earth and FeelingPulledApartbyHorses are to be released under Yorke's own name, although there are signs that he is regarding a new moniker or even a new backing band for his solo project.
"Dear Sir or Madam," Yorke wrote yesterday on the official Radiohead blog. "This is to inform you of the release of two more bits of work shortly ... Both were created by Nigel Godrich as ever. And mastered by Bob Ludwig. They are being put out on 12" with shredded sleeve by Stanley (Donwood) and (myself)."
Radiohead and Yorke have been busy these last few weeks. Largely dormant since 2007's In Rainbows, the band released a tribute to first world war veteran Harry Patch at the start of August. These Are My Twisted Words, another new track, was posted to their website just weeks later. Yorke has also recorded a cover of All for the Best, primitively by US band Miracle Legion, which will appear on a Miracle Legion tribute album and limited edition 7" later this month.
Both FeelingPulledApartbyHorses and The Hollow Earth have been maturation in Radiohead vaults for some time. The former, Yorke wrote, is a "radical rework of an old tune" from 2001, written and performed with Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood. The "bass menace" of The Hollow Earth was, meanwhile, apprenticed for Yorke's 2006 solo album, The Eraser, "but wanted a little more time".
The forthcoming 12" will be released in shops and at Radiohead's online store on 21 September. According to a source at Canadian distributor Sonic Unyon, there many be as few as 4,000 copies available in Europe (North America will receive another 4,000). Digital versions of the tracks will go on sale on 6 October.
Billboard reports that Yorke is considering touring this material later in the year. Rather than play solo, he may even perform with a band and it won't needfully be Radiohead. "These days it's all getting kind of blurry," Yorke wrote. The singer is also resultedly considering new names for his solo project.
He sais, "Thomosexual," suggested Adam Buxton in an interview with Yorke, "(or) the Duke of Yorke." Yorke preferred T.Homme. "(It's) kind of sophisticated,"
